Side Salad: Could This Shark Tank-Approved Brand Eliminate Plastic Shampoo Bottles?
August 5, 2026
Good morning from Dieline’s editor-in-chief, Bill McCool. Here’s your daily side serving of design news, short musings, brand stuff, and forgotten ephemera.
Admittedly, that’s a hefty amount of hyperbole I cobbled together in today’s title, but that’s pretty much bathcare brand Sapone’s mission. The 2-in-1 shampoo is packaged in a bottle made of soap. Genuinely would love to know how the bottle will hold up inside your shower, and want to get my hands on one.
Best (and only?) bear warning sign ever?
If you want a PAX with a super spaced-out look, might I suggest the Aurora Burst? You can win one of these by throwing your hat in the ring over at PAX now. Highly recommend listening to “Silver Machine“ whilst doing so.
Goodles just introduced a Twirly Mac line for folks who can’t make a basic Mornay sauce.
Someone who is not named Jeff Bezos should be telling the Washington Post how to make compelling social content. Why am I watching the JV team hold their phone whilst watching the video?
Move your car for the street sweepers, New York City, or face the wrath of the STICKER OF SHAME.
Dang. Are you saying I could have hired a teen with a point-and-shoot for my wedding pictures?
I take umbrage with the claim that this is somehow the first-ever breakfast in a can. Have these people not heard of protein shakes or Soylent? That said, I love the name and look for Noon, which just launched in Target. Definitely not for me, but I can see the allure here for the YOUNG FOLKS who will similarly never know the meaning of work-life balance.
B TEE DUBS--Cranation Instant Breakfast makes for a great post-run drink.
Chim-chim.
